How to get Microsoft Word templates to appear in Word

Open Microsoft Word

Select "Blank document"

On the top left go to "FILE"

Select "Options" on the left side pane.

 A dialog box ("Word Options") will pop-up.  

Select the "Save" option (it is the fourth option down in the left-hand menu)

Under "Save documents" you will want to edit or verify "Default personal templates location:"

Typically, it should be "C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\"

Once you have verified or modified the  "Default personal templates location",  please close the "Word Options" and then close Word itself.

Re-launch Word and try to open your personal templates.

Your templates should now be showing up correctly.
