How do I get free Microsoft Office?

If you are a credit registered DMACC student, or a DMACC employee, log into myDMACC​ to get started.

1. Go to MyDmacc

2. Then on your Dashboard on the left-hand blue-ribbon there should be a button that says 'Office 365', you might have to scroll down to see it properly on the blue ribbon. Below it has been circled.

3. Once you click that button it should take you to this new page as seen below. All you have to do next is hit the 'Install and More' button, and then the 'Install Microsoft 365 Apps'

4. Once you do you should be taken to a new page where all you have to click is 'Install Office'

How do I know if I'm eligible through my school?

If you are currently registered for a credit class at Des Moines Area Community College, you are eligible.  If you are a current DMACC employee, you are eligible.

What happens when I graduate or I'm no longer taking credit classes at DMACC?

When you graduate or are no longer enrolled in credit classes, your Office 365 subscription through your institution ends. You may enroll into other consumer or commercial offers available. If you have Office 365 Education at your school, you should make sure to transfer all your files from your school OneDrive to your personal OneDrive prior to graduation.

What does Office 365 include?

Office 365 comes with a full version of Office and familiar Office applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and more. Office 365 is a user-based service and allows each student to install on up to five PCs or Macs, and five tablets and access Office mobile applications on iPhone and Android phones. (Office Mobile applications are included with all Windows phones). ​

Can I install Office for iPad?

Yes, this would count towards the limit of installing it on 5 tablets.

Can I purchase discounted software as a DMACC student or employee?
