Students enrolled in CIS-171 at DMACC are eligible to activate a JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA license using the DMACC license server. Follow the steps below to activate your license.
Step 1: Open IntelliJ IDEA
When IntelliJ IDEA starts, you may see the Welcome screen or the User Agreement. Accept the agreement to continue.

Step 2: Allow Data Sharing (Optional)
You may be prompted to share anonymous usage data. This step is optional — you can choose Don’t Send or Send Anonymous Statistics.

Step 3: Firewall Prompt
If prompted by Windows Security, click Allow to let IntelliJ access the network.

Step 4: Manage Licenses
On the Welcome screen, click the gear icon in the lower left corner, then select Manage Licenses.

Step 5: Select License Server
In the subscription window:
- Select the License server option.
- Enter the server address:
https://dmacc.fls.jetbrains.com
- Click Activate.

Step 6: Sign in with DMACC Credentials
You will be redirected to a DMACC sign-in page. Enter your DMACC email address and complete the login process.

Step 7: Accept License Vault access
The first time you successfully sign in, you will be prompted to allow License Vault to request access to your account. You must accept to be granted a license.

Step 8: Authorization Successful
If you've accepted the License Vault request, you will see an Authorization Successful message. Close the browser window and return to IntelliJ IDEA.

Step 9: License Activated
After completing the steps, your IntelliJ IDEA license should now be active. You will be able to start new projects or open existing ones.
